For about 180 years of reputable service, Chubb has been the undisputable leading brand when it comes to fire safety and security in UK and Ireland. The name Chubb started out with its successful production of locks, which was essential many years ago. Just about a few decades ago, Chubb started making fire protection equipment. This paved the way to the creation of Chubb fire extinguishers, which were also a great success. From the UK, these fire extinguishers gained success also in other countries such as Australia and Ireland. Until now, Chubb has been known for producing one of the most popular firefighting equipment.
Like other types of fire extinguishers, Chubb fire extinguishers are designed for use to a special class of fire. They tackle all kinds of fires that can ruin the business. It is essential to understand first the classes of fire. Class A fires are caused by ordinary materials such as wood, paper, material, and cloth. These ordinary materials are generally highly flammable. Class B fires are those which are caused by highly flammable liquids such as spirits, petrol, and diesel while Class C are those fires which started from flammable gas. Class D fires are those which are caused by metals. Class E fires are those that are caused by electrical equipment. However, in the UK, there is no Class E. Class F fires are those, which are caused by deep fat cooking oil. All of these classes of fire are covered by Chubb.
Any reliable fire safety equipment can also suffer from defects. Chubb fire extinguishers, are prone to these, too, especially after long years of not being used. Major defects could be caused by corrosion and many other factors. Other factors include wear to threads of any pressure retaining part, severe pitting, corrosion of welds, and significant dents in the body. Any split in an internal protective plastics lining, or any significant bubbling from the metal of a plastics lining can also lead to defects.
When Chubb fire extinguishers are condemned, unsafe for use, or unfit for service, they must be turned over to Chubb Fire Extinguisher Recycling Unit. Doing so, which is a legal requirement, allows for the proper disposal and/or recycling processes of the fire extinguishers. Fire extinguishers are said to be condemned once they have a major damage. This major damage makes them either unsafe for use, or unfit for service. They are unfit for service when the early signs of damage or corrosion are very likely to worsen that can make the fire extinguisher unsafe for use. They are unsafe for use when they suddenly release pressure or uncontrollably eject some parts.
There are three things you need to know about Chubb fire extinguishers. First, they have been servicing for almost two centuries with an undisputable fire safety technology. Second, they are reliable firefighting devices that can tackle all kinds of fire that can happen in the workplace. Third, like any other reliable firefighting devices, they can be damaged by not being used for a long time. Thanks to its legal disposal/recycling service.
